The Meeting of the Rivers Foundation (MTRF) is an organization of volunteer board members dedicated to improving and enhancing exhibits at the NGRM and outreach programs along the Mississippi River.
Mission To conduct programs and activities that promote public awareness and understanding of the great rivers, their environments, their place in the natural world, and the dynamic interaction between the river systems and the human and wildlife communities that border them.
Individual “vision attributes” from the 2003 strategy were rewritten and consolidated into a brief vision statement that serves as an inspiration to higher levels of achievement and clearly defines the Foundation’s primary strategic goal.
Vision Statement The Meeting of the Rivers Foundation — through the National Great Rivers Museum, education and outreach activities, and through effective partnerships — provides high quality education and interpretive experiences that advance public awareness and understanding of great rivers issues, and thereby promote and inspire greater public and private stewardship and active involvement in the protection, preservation, and sustainable use of our river environments.
